Lucrezia Maniscotti

Lucrezia Maniscotti is a Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and researcher specializing in Indian performing arts.

She holds a Master's Degree in Classical Literature with a specialization in Indology from the University of Milan. In 2008, she was awarded an international excellence scholarship, which allowed her to complete an advanced training program in Bharatanatyam at the prestigious Bharata Choodamani School in Chennai, under the guidance of Padmashri Adyar K. Lakshman.

During her years in India, she also studied Carnatic vocal music, rhythmic solfege, and abhinaya (expressive storytelling) with renowned masters including Seetharama Sharma, T. V. Ramprasadh, and Indira Kadambi. In 2009, she made her professional debut at the historic Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Chennai and has since performed regularly in India—including Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Hyderabad—as well as at festivals and cultural events throughout Europe.

In Milan, Lucrezia founded and directs Accademia Sangam, a project dedicated to the study and promotion of Indian classical performing arts. She continues her artistic journey under the guidance of internationally acclaimed artists Leela Samson and Mavin Khoo.

She regularly collaborates with institutions including the University of Milan, the Consulate General of India in Milan, and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala. She was also selected as a guest artist for the 2021–2022 academic year at the Center for Hellenic Studies of Harvard University.
